    My first setup!!!!

Sorry for being so excited, but I finally picked my hammock up, and am trying to get setup. I'm afraid I got a little excited and ordered the wrong **** thing, but I'm going to try it out and see what happens. So far this is what I have:

ENO Singlenest (I think this might be my mistake, please let me know what yall think)
Just ordered my whoopie slings from whoopieslings.com
Also ordered the tree huggers and toggles from them as well.

I still need the rain tarp, and an under quilt. Trying to decide if I should make these or just order them. It doesn't seem to me that it is much cheaper to make it, but I do like having the satisfaction of having made something myself. Anyway just thought I'd take the time to thank everyone here for the wealth of knowledge that I have been reading on all the different threads. (PS I'm sure I'll be upgrading the hammock after the first trip with it, but I had to start somewhere)

Peace out!!! And a special thanks to Shug for getting me into all this hammock business. (Found him on youtube)

Congrats and you have every right to be excited. Way to go. I think a lot of us can blame Shug for this .
Enjoy, and post some pics soon!

Congrats on the new gear. Eno makes some nice hammocks from what I have read.

Welcome to the world above the ground.

I didn't see you list a bug net. Depending on where you are camping that might be needed as well.

DIY is always great if you can do it (I most of the time cannot) and if you already have the equipment you might save some cash. That said all of the cottage guys around here make some amazing stuff.

There are many of us who can blame(thank) Shug for showing us the light.

(p.s. I have an equip single. Used it 2 times and upgraded to a warbonnet. Still use the single in the back yard.)

Farnsworth: "Well then, good news! It's a suppository."

As well you should! Hell, I'm guessing if if you had your own brand of hammock stuff you'd probably outsell most brands out there now from your youtube videos alone

I opted for the ENO double-nest and love it. The single seemed a bit to small for my taste. For the $10 extra I figured I would go one step larger.

I think you will be happy. It sleeps great. I added a ridge-line whoopie sling made from some Tech Line I got from DIY GEAR SUPPLY.com. They are some great folks to work with and ship they products quickly.

I got a birthday coming up next week and have the ENO bug net on my list, but I use a rain fly of my own construction and am working on anew rainfly made from Tyvek (sp) If you go with the DIY rain fly or the store-bought, I think you will be happy.

You just have to decide if you want to go down the road of DIY or not. If you do, I must warn you.... it is an addictive road to travel down.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I'll be posting pics very soon. I just got my whoopie slings attached to it last night. I've also got my tree huggers and toggles. What do you guys think of what kind of ridgeline to use? I'm still a bit confused on that one. Oh yeah........going to REI tonight to pick the woman up a hammock! I'm afraid her setup may be a bit nicer than mine lol!
