    Poor man's snakeskin

I found a mesh stuff sack at a thrift store, made to stash a folding camp chair in. It is about 24" long and 6" diameter. I clipped one leg of the mesh in the center of the bottom and ran the whoopie sling on one end through the hole. To my surprise, it doesn't want to tear or run from that hole. I can unhook the other end and stuff the hammock and foot end sling inside and it leaves enough room to stuff the rain fly in the end too. I wrap the left-over whoopie sling around the outside and close the drawstring. It works fine and I can stash stuff in the mesh bag while it is in place on the suspension. It is super light (forgot to weigh it before I installed it) and it cost me all of $1.

I always enjoy the dollar store. Everything is light because it is made so cheaply. There are creative treasures in there. I store my expensive quilts in dollar store mesh bags.

Nice, I made some snake skins from some mesh I got from the local Army Surplus. I use them on my tarp so if the tarp is wet, the whole thing attaches to the outside of my pack and drains/dries while I hike.
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

I use a nylon tube that used to hold tent poles (shades of a misguided youth). Has a drawstring cord on one end. I opened up the other end and added another drawstring, so now I have a quick in/quick out snakeskin.
