The Tarp Key and Tarp Cross

a couple of us have been playing around with making new gear and thought we'd share some of the stuff we've come up with and have been playing around with.

the tarp key, made of aluminum 6061-T651 weighs 2 grams/4grams for the pair and the tarp cross is made of the same material and is about 1.7/3.4grams for the pair.

both are designed to be used with 3mm diameter line or smaller and tumbled with a few types of media to remove all burrs, edges and give it a little shine.

if you're wondering why they are not Ti, well, it's just too expensive and to get the true benefits one would need to use grade 5 and most places around us do not sell it. even though it's supper sexy to say titanium, aluminum is just an easier metal to work with.

if you've got questions, post um, i'm sure any of us that have our hands on them will chime in with answers.

    take care,

    patrick

Yeah, its been a while. I was monkeying around with other stuff and came back to this then made some prototypes and didn't like them. Then played around with Ti and couldn't get a clean edge so we played around with these and bickered to much.

These are pretty cool items. That was my Tarp ridgeline we where using and it works great with these. Though I have to admit I have the special edition "sexy" titanium ones. Really the aluminum ones work better. Just slightly bigger for more bite and the same weight.
