The last bit of sewing for the bug net is a bit harder, but not impossible. Worse comes to worse a few stitches with a needle and thread. The up side is a much more comfortable hammock IMO. There are a couple of pics in my gallery that show how I do the whipping for the hammocks I build now. I don't sew the netting to the hammock, but to the hammock cover with a zippered entrance. The hammock is passed through the cover and then the cover attaches to the suspension lines. Instead of quilts I zipp a modified sleeping bag over the hammock and use it for bag top and bottom quilt. Works well for me.
