What can I say... we just got home... we had to keep stopping very few feet or so... so I could stand up.......
It just tickled my butt.. to be a part of any of this....
Just kidding.. we got home Sunday.....
Thank you everyone...

I know Throkda already said thanks, but a huge Thank You from me as well. It was my pleasure to meet all of you and I can't wait until the next get-together.
It's time to start planning the spring fling ...... Or the annual east Texas hang part two, the revenge of the trees ....
Venue suggestions anyone? And how about the end of February for a time frame?

Great pictures, Shane. Thanks for sharing!
Sorry to post so late, had some catching up to do at work, and that’s where my only computer is.
Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome. I am terrible with putting names to faces, especially so many forum names/birth names! But this last weekend has given me a start.
Thanks to the whomever(s) who helped me put up my hammock after arriving in the dark and not having set it up in eons. (Yeah, I’m THAT guy).
A big thanks to those supporting vendors and others who donated the wonderful items.
and to whomever “gifted” this newbie with the “Hammock Camping book by Ed Speer”.
I have already read it, and am lending it to another potential hammocker.
Thanks to Alan, for all his help, and showing me his awesome setup. I want a Superfly Santa!
Thanks for the breakfast tacos, what a way to start the day.
Thanks to all who cooked that fantastic dinner feast. I think a couple of trees got closer to each other that night.
Thanks for the use of the spotting scope when the Eagles were fishing, and for the interpretative nature hike.
Thanks for the giant bonfire! (maybe an exaggeration)
So many good memories. I look forward to the next event, and the chance to connect more faces with names and learn a little more about the gear I saw in action.
What a wonderful introduction into this deal. Thanks for letting me hang with you.

Ok, ok... it will be done this afternoon.
I was going to do it yesterday afternoon. You won't believe how my week ended.
I drove 30 miles east to a small town for lunch with the Martins, auto mechanics who I have known for many years. The Martins are like something out of Mayberry. Father Grady is 87 yrs old and supervises from a chair beside the wood stove, son Terry is 62 and does all the work that he is willing to do. Repairs are done slowly in their shop, which is a one room block building. Lots of people stop by to talk and sit around the wood stove. Another friend, who is a retired college prof, joined us for lunch.
As I approached the parking lot of the restaurant, my radiator failed! After all that driving, crossing the Mississippi River in the state of Minnesota and again in the state of Mississippi, the truck quit while the mechanics watched through the window from their lunch table! I told them what happened, and Terry smiled and asked me how much money I brought with me... he was kidding, of course, er, I hope.
I felt blessed that it failed two blocks from the shop of my good friends and trusted mechanics... and that my other friend, the professor, was there to give me a ride home and a ride back on Monday to pick up the repaired truck.
