We are right smack-dab in the middle of them.
The fire has jumped the Angelina River and is moving towards Reklaw (i.e. north of Davey Crocket NF). Between FM 225 and FM 241 and north of HWY 21 is the focus.
Prayer for our fire fighters, please. They have been battling this one since Sunday and all the big equipment is at the Bastrop fire.

I'll be there......Looking forward to seeing the gang.....
I'll plan on it, but no guarantees.
Edit: I might bring 1 or 2 fellow hangers with me.
Me And My Dad Plan On Going To The Hang.
do we have to rent a spot or something? this will be our first group hang.
I drove by Bastrop yesterday and saw some pretty sad sights. Are you guys okay?
It'll be great to see you up and kicking again!
I'll place you on the "maybe" list when I do the next update in a few days. We'd be glad to have you along. When we get closer you can let us know if we need to keep a light on for you or not.
Great, It's always good for familiy time on these things. My son is doing the same thing.
Unfortunately, I didn't get on my Dad's calendar soon enough and he may already be booked that weekend.
This is a State Park and the spots do need to be rented. There's also a fee for day use/entrance. I think I posted info on that earlier in the thread but I'll be sure to include that on the next update.
I'm interested. Sounds like a good way to be initiated into the whole culture. From the pics it looks like a lot of fun.
gospidey.
We took a hard hit in Bastrop. I was fortunate and sustained no personal losses, but know many people that did. Somewhere around 45 square mile burned including the two state park and even worse, 1500+ homes. I have not driven through the parks yet (the hardest hit areas are being opened today and tomorrow). I suspect from what i have heard that we have lost the park. Say a prayer for those that lost most everything.
You can add me to the "very possible" list. I work shift work and just happen to be off that weekend.
I don't know much about hammock camping. And I just got a new JRB BMBH setup that I'm excited about using. Sounds like a great time.
Also, wondering if anyone is interested in carpooling?
I live in Cleburne, south of Ft. Worth. I could be able to meet up with someone if anyone wants to split gas. I can drive. Doesn't matter.
I'll try and confirm yes or no within the next couple of weeks.
