    Camp Site Reservations:

Since we are camping at Fairfield Lake State Park there are a couple of factors to remember in planning.

First is there are two separate fees, a per person/per day use/park entrance fee, and second a camp site fee. The entrance fee is collected by the Park Service folks at the entry gate. If you have a State Park Pass, this fee is waived.

Second there is a camp site fee. Camp sites accommodate a maximum of 8 people and 2 vehicles. We’ve handled this couple of ways in the past...

The first option is to make your own reservations and pay for your site individually, per family, or buddy up. Many folks prefer this so that they can be off away from the group a bit, be sure they are with folks then know, or have less traffic in their area. Reservations are not required unless the park is full and that has never been an issue for us, but it’s a good idea just in case.

The other option is I reserve a number of sites and those using those sites pitch in to share the cost. We typically use one site as the main gathering area for campfire and potluck dinners and then spread out to our individual sites the rest of the time. I have reservations for a few sites beginning Thursday for a couple of us to set up ahead of the main group.

It makes no difference to me how it’s done, but if you want to be in on the sites I reserve, I’d like to get that nailed down by the end of this week, not later than September, 25. To be on one of those sites, if you are positive you’ll be there, send me a PM and let me know which night you plan to arrive and how long you plan to stay. (Some only do Friday night, others go Thursday thru Sunday.) If I don’t hear from you, I’ll know that you are on your own or grouping up with others.

I will post the names of the folks I’m making reservations for prior to finalizing it in hopes that no one misses out.

Also, to make sure we are all on the same page, here's one more link concerning park rules and regulations.

I am sorry to say I won't be making it to this one. It is apparently a very busy weekend for me my wife has told me.
Yosemite Sam: Are you trying to make me look a fool?
Bugs: You don't need me to make you look like a fool.
Yosemite Sam: Yer deerrrnnn right I don't!

I too am highly disappointed to report that I'm not going to make it this year. Too many family commitments.

I was hoping, because I really enjoyed myself last year, which was my very first HF hang and it will always hold that special place

He's not the only one, (and my hunch is that's not all he's praying for right now).

We did get some rain last night and some more forecast for this week, however, the burn ban is in effect for the time being.

Last year we got close before it was lifted and I hope this year to be better or at least the same.

Ban or not, I'll be out there. My schedule has been uber tight and woods time is limited, so if I need to buy a supply of glow sticks to toss in a pile in the center of camp, I'm in.

Hey Mike... put Pamela and I down for part of a campsite (need a place with perfect trees for that Honeymoon Suite that I still haven't taken out of the stuff sack once... no excuses). Planning on taking off the whole day Friday, so we'll be there around noon or better.

Pray for rain. I want fire.

Still hoping to see you next weekend too!
