    Need help finding this...

    Hello guys/gals,

I am looking to start sewing some webbing components for the animal industry, but I remembered all the time I spent here on my hammock and how much webbing talk there was here.

My questions is this: Does anyone know anywhere to purchase recycled 1 inch webbing? I have seen it being used as 100% PET webbing etc. Looking for as many colors as possible. Bulk/Wholesale if possible. I do have a resale license.

Thanks in advance for any help! I do appreciate it!

Don't know if it is wide enough for your application, but check out electricians and companies that install electrical stuff (TV, Telephone, Cable, whatever) underground. They need to pull the electrical cables through once their "mole" has drilled through.

They use "Bull Tape" (I think it may be called Mule Tape also) to do this. One application and then the stuff is discarded. In a neighborhood nearby, Verizon was installing fiber optic cabling for the new service. The contractors went through and used thousands of feet of the Bull Tape. I asked and they gave me a 200'+ length that had been used once and was just laying on the ground. A little soiled in places, but mostly still perfectly white. I think it is 1/2" tubular polyester.

Go around to companies that install the underground stuff and ask them to let you know when they are doing a job. If they are doing the whole neighborhood, you can end up with a couple thousand feet. Some of it might be a little dirty, but will probably wash up fine.

    Tiredfeet,

Thanks for the heads up. It never ceases to amaze me how wasteful most processes are. Yeah, I know that a breakage "could occur" on a long run, but dang.

Will have to see what I can come up with for a product like that!

    THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Mule tape, and Bull-Line by A-D technologies are similar competing products...

I have 1850lb mule tape. The downside to mule tape/bull line is that it's designed for a one-time use. Most of the material is down the length, with just enough side-stitching to hold it together. Over time, it wears and frays... But it is cheap.

I have about 500' left, but can get bundles of 3000' plus anytime I want for free. it takes some detangling, but it's FREE...

If you want some, PM me: I can put about 120' into a small flat-rate box for $5 shipping...
