Working on a new hammock since my old one is now my indoor hammock, it was also heavy. Using some polyester hangfree lining from Hancock's which they had on sale. This stuff is light, 8 oz for a 10.5' x5' piece. Somewhere there is a formula for computing the oz/sq yd. Ihave searched and can't find it. Help please, and Thank you.

If my calculations are correct (and they very well may not be), it's ~1.4oz/sqyd.

10.5' x 5' = 52.5 sq ft
1 sq yd = 9 sq ft
52.5 / 9 = 5.83 sq yd
8oz / 5.83 sq yd = 1.37 oz/sq yd

That's a pretty good fabric weight for polyester! Somewhere I have a Beyer hammock that started me down this road, I wish I could find fabric like they used. It's REALLY light...
