Wow, the zippers look cool! I've got to find a flaw...other than the few extra ounces that I don't mind carrying.

Has anyone had zipper-tab-rattle? I noticed they rattle a bit while handling the hammock, but I haven't actually hung it up yet. (It's too humid, here in southern Missouri, today.) I don't think it will be very noticeable when it's actually being used, but was just curious.

Nope. I don't think you will either.

Finally found time to send my HH for the full mod. Why did I wait? Excellent workmanship, quick turnaround and great communication. And on top of that, it's just plain convenient. The temperature dropped more than expected the other night and I was able to close up the head end of the underquilt without exiting the hammock! Nature calls during the night are so much easier and quieter, too. Can't think of a single nit or complaint with this zipper mod.

    Thanks 2Q and ZQ.

It really is great. Feel same way. Being able to check and adjust the underquilt easily is a BIG bonus.

I think I will be sending mine in shortly for this mod. I REALLY like the idea of a side-entry hammock. I sleep comfortably in my HH exped, but am lazy, and like sitting in & swinging the legs over!
Has anyone experienced any zipper separation issues using it as a top loader, as compared to the way it was originally designed? And, big question; whats the turnaround time on this?

    Zipper separation issue

To date, ZQ has completed 33 Mod #2's (full side zip on one side with 1/2 zip on other side) and we have had no one call about a failed zipper. If the zipper is opened up past the tie out patch (on the long side) at least 8", I don't forsee any problems. I've got 80+ nights in my HH with Mod #2 with no problems so far. A potential problem may exist when this is not the case and one enters too close to the zipper pull. I don't think the stitching on the zipper itself will fail because it is double stitched to the hammock trim, but wonder if one of the coils could be broken.

That being said, we use #5 coil zippers, which are fairly tough, but care should be exercised when entering or exiting. The mod #2 would be my choice over Mod #1 if top loading is the main desire due to the ability to unzip the bugnet farther past the tie out patch.

TA is about a week at the moment. ZQ will begin to slow down a bit come mid October as her full time business picks up for the Thanksgiving/Christmas season.

I always try to give her two weeks turnaround, excluding shipping days.

Ok. Looks like with that I'll have to wait until Nov. I've got hikes planned every other weekend from next Fri through Oct. No rush. I can wait.
