I got a superfly, I love the coverage, but there's times I want something really small. Something like a storm shield that clark has, I saw shug with something like this. any suggestions?

I'd go with the OES mini, I've seen it used on multiple blackbirds. Plenty sufficient for rain, but wind blown rain is probably a different story. And only $65. I enjoy the coverage of the standard though. Still small but add an extra foot of coverage on the sides.
spidennis,
I can only speak of what I have experienced- With that said I have/use the Warbonnet Edge. Really like it for a smaller footprint type tarp. Going in the oposite direction would like a larger tarp for myself for fall and winter, although I have seen first hand the Edge used during a winter hang!
The Edge compares closely In size to the OES MacCat Standard. If your looking at something uber small. Take a look at the MacCat Micro. Personally I wouldn’t want something smaller than the Edge or MacCat Standard for my uses. These two tarps are not as large as you might think.
Warbonnet and OES are both top notch vendors as well as others out there. But for sure you won't go wrong going with either of these guys.

I hike with SCISSORS cause it makes me feel dangerous ... LoL
I made a minimal tarp for my Blackbird and I think the dimensions turned out perfect for what I was looking for. That was minimum size that would almost have to be nailed down on the hammock to keep it dry. I didn't plan to take it if storms were predicted, but I knew I could survive an unexpected storm.
It is a cat cut hex tarp 116" long x 59" wide at the center (63" wide at the tie-outs) and 53" between side tie-outs along the edge.
Here is the link where I describe it in detail ...

If you look at POST #4 in the above link, you will see pictures taken straight down from above the tarp, that illustrated the amount of coverage.

To much time on your hands? Waste some time here
Somebody had a stock Hennessy Asym top for sale cheap. Sizes from the Hennessy site: Parallelogram 63" X 99" / 160cm X 252cm Diagonal length above ridgeline 132" / 335cm
the Micro covers the WBBB just right ... there is a learning curve with it so play around with setting it up so you can get it right the first time while in the woods....
the Micro is the best Bang for your Buck if you ask me at $65 it's a really nice tarp ...
also MLD makes a Asym Cuben tarp for $90 ? or around that price that might do the job
but i know for a fact the OES Micro will work fine
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
That is a great design Shug. Being able to closeup the ends like that is genius.
That is a great design. I would like to mod my OES Std. like that.
