SoCal Hang?

I hope that the search will continue...

It feels awkward to bring this thread back on track with the recent turn of events.

I will be making this trip now 100%.

I was thinking of camping Friday night and Saturday night - is anyone else doing the same thing or is everyone attending planning on being there Saturday morning and camping for just one evening?

Still not sure if I will make the Hang, but we were in the area saturday, went in Van Dusen, and over to 3n02 and down around Burnt Flats, did not see anything out of place

I was thinking the same thing too. I leave early from work on the 19th so I plan on being there that afternoon.

My wife just informed me that we have a wedding.. So I can't go... ......... But I need your help. We're driving from San Diego to the Bay Area and we're gonna camp Friday night somewhere along the way. I need a suggestion along the 5 somewhere north of the Grapevine.. Where should we hang?

I am going to try to get up there early Friday evening and staying 'till Sunday morning. If not, I will be there Saturday in the AM.

Big Dave, I don't know of any spots along the five in the Central Valley; not even a KOA campground except in Los Banos, which is practically at the bay. There are no state parks off the 5.

Perhaps others know of some private areas.

Nice, will I still need to reserve a campsite or is it a first come first serve deal - or has this been done already? I've always camped at either a yellow-post site around Big Bear so not too familiar with this specific campground.
