    Amazing!.................................

    OK, so 200D Cordura?

I notice the HHs are from 30D(Hyperlite 200 lbs) to 70D ( UL BPs 200 lbs and my Explorer UL 250 lb rating) to 210D(Expeditions 250 lb/Safaro 350 lbs) to 2 layers of 30D(DJs 250Lbs)

I guess the ropes and huggers account for some of the weight rating dif. Anyway, it sounds like from your experiments there is a good hunk of reserve built into the ratings.

But, another variable would be movement and hours of use. Still, interesting results!

:-) So what you're really saying is that a sumo wrestler could easily hang the night in a hammock? :-P

Destructive testing...love it!!! Fun in the name of science.

Amazing how much that hammock and rope held. Also the whoopie broke at the bury exit, which is just where Samson Rope says it should fail.

OK i'm thinking a hammock bathtub. For skinny dipping on those hot humid summer nights. Hippo if you're really bored how about testing that one for us?

lol. it was fun. the coating on the cordura actually deformed a bit where the tank sat, but it is fine for laying in, it did not stretch way out. I thought it would. I am happy to do the 1.9, I suspect that with amsteel whoopies, the body of the hammock, either at the gather or where the tank makes contact, is where the break would occur. I seriously was surprised how much it held. The tank had overflowed, and filled the hammock with I would guess like 15 or 20 more gallons that I didn't count, because I left for a second to get a beer and heard the thump. @ Rootcause-I grew up hang gliding in wisconsin, with my dad. Durinda Center, Savannah army depot, some places up by lake superior. I would move to monroe. Olddog, I may use that hammock as a tub. It should hold me and 30 gallons no problem.

I like your testing process. There should be more done this way!
