    permit

Permit request goes in the mail tomorrow. 7 people, three nights, campfire only one night. Problem, there is only one slot left on this hike.

Plenty of room left on the hang and the short trip.

This hike has it all."

But do we need the lure of a 14'er or a segment of the Colorado Trail to gather a crowd?
That sounds great, I can do that.

Do you think the snow will be a problem early July? Indian Peaks usually gets a ton of snow.

    there will be snow

There will be snow, but it should be OK. So far this winter the snow is light, but the major snows generally come in March.

Did you get conformation from the 7 lucky hikers?

If more attendees wanted to do this hike could one of our local hangers
offer to lead/take a second group? Not sure how all the permit stuff works.

I'm currently shopping for flyfishing lures for this trip.
    I thinking a half a dozen:

    permits

MrClockWork, you have the last slot. However, I would be very surprised if at least three slots do not become available. Hey, we have family and jobs.

Small party permits are 7 heartbeats and large party are 12 heartbeats. Yes, a dog counts as a heartbeat. I applied for a small party permit because trees the third night might be a little thin. I have blank applications and would be happy to help someone else apply for a permit. They do not allow groups from the same organization (think boy scouts) occupy the same backcountry zone any night. A group could do a clockwise loop or maybe a two night south loop.

Lots of options. There will be a quality hang and backcountry options available for everyone that attends.

Unfortunately my trip got blown out of the water. I was railroaded into runnning the handgun shooting portion of an open house at our Sportsman's Club shooting Range during the Meeker Independence Day Celebration. It runs through the 8th. TQZ, you're going to have to be double tough to take care of the curmudgeon duties by yourself! I was really excited about seeing the Indian Peaks country. Hopefully I can make one of the other Colo. hike and hangs, just hikes, or just hangs....any **** thing!!!!!

I can't think of a better place to ask that question HH since this is where most of us CO guys/gals are hanging out and discussing Colorado stuff.

I think many of us want to do a winter hang.
Now that the holidays are over I think we are just waiting on some good snow.

For me it's just a very cold fall hang without good snow to hike on.
Snowshoeing in, pulling a pulk if you have one, helping each other get our vehicles unstuck is all part of the Colorado Winter Hang experience.
