    Greetings from Ft. Worth, TX!

Hey everyone. My girlfriend recently got me into hammock camping, and now I can't get enough of it. Hopefully this forum will allow me to get out there and camp as much as possible. Are there any other folks from the DFW area that could point me in the right direction as far as good campsites, etc? Thanks folks!

A good campsite is any with two trees 12-15 feet apart! Welcome to the forum.

As for the girlfriend, sounds like a keeper.

Howdy and welcome to the forums! There's lot's of great places to hang within a reasonable drive from Cowtown. Most state parks work well - I recently drove through Ft. Richardson state park and recall some hangable sites, however, you'll do better heading east than west. Meridian, Fort Parker, Fairfield Lake, and the National Forests have all been good hangs for me.

There's a good number of North Texas hangers who may chime in as well.

Also be sure and check out our Texas Fall Hang thread and join in if you can make it. Group hangs are a great way to smooth out a learning curve.

Welcome! I am in Dallas and always looking for good places myself. DFW is tough... I tend to head to the major lakes if I want to stay relatively close. I love Possum Kingdom.

I'm not from Texas so I can't help with info on places to hang. But I send ya a warm welcome from Southern Maryland.
