Need help on choosing a tarp

Well I just got the go-ahead from the misses to buy a WBBB and tarp. I just can't decide on which tarp. I will probably go with Warbonnet just because I don't want to be splitting up several orders with shipping costs. But anyways, I don't plan on very extensive backpacking trips for awile untill the little ones can go along but, I do like to looks of "porch mode" i've seen you guys do with the superfly. On the other hand, the Edge looks like an awesome little tarp. So help me out guys.
P.S. (Pics would also be a great help to understand size and coverage)

well that's just it bro. if you want a bigger tarp that you can "porch mode" with, then the big mamba jamba is your tarp. if you count grams and pack as light as possible, it's the edge.

you can porch mode the edge. and that'd be my pick... finskie has had the edge and the BMJ. maybe he'll pop by here.

Oh I’m definitely no gram weenie, I’m military and personal backpacking setup is a dream compared to my work load out. I just don't want overkill on the tarp. If i can porch mode the Edge with enough room for me and a buddy to sit under then I'll be happy. (Me in the bb and him on the stool)

On page 2 of these Warbonnet threads, I have pics of my camo mamajamba tarp. The thread is titled "camo mamajamba pics." I like it for southeast weather. Also get some no-see-um tarp sleeves, they really make setup and storing easy and I wouldn't do without them. Mountaingoat sewed mine.

I have some pictures in my album of my Superfly in porch mode. I am really happy with my SF, I can't imagine using any other tarp...even year round!

I just ordered a WB last nite and went with a Super Fly. Reason being, I'm a newbie to this, plus i like to be around folks, so I wanted plenty of room for people to hang out in bad weather. Figured it would also be easier to cook under in bad weather.
I may change out to a smaller tarp in the future, just didn't want to chance the rain.

How is the weather where you intend on doing your backpacking? If weight is not an issue and if you will be seeing more precipitation then I would go with a bigger tarp. I personally like more coverage but YMMV.

Well first I would like to thank you guys for the quick and helpfull replies. I just went ahead and ordered the Mamajamba. I have a six week trip to TN. in August and hope to get my new hammock/tarp before then to take with me. I post up some "proof" when it gets here. (peeking out the blinds waiting for the Brown van of happiness)

I doubt you'll ever be disappointed that you've got a big tarp!
