    Just back from Sea Base!!

My son and I just returned from Seabase, the Boy Scout high adventure base in the FL keys. Spent the week on the out island adventure in our asym HH's. I discovered this site prior to the trip in researching hanging at Seabase. Thanks to several threads on the subject we also talked several other scouts/adults into going the hammock route. What an awesome way to spend the week on an island off the keys!!!

I used to live in the Keys back in the mid 70's. I would love to see some pictures!

I'm a bit jealous. Been to Philmont many times, but have yet to get a group interested in putting a trip to Sea Base together. Would love to see pictures, too!

Any trip that begins and ends with a 5.5 mile canoe paddle to/from a primitive island is tops in my book. Week filled with paddling, snorkeling, fishing, exploring and just plain enjoying life. No phones, electricity, running water, computers, mail and so forth......makes you truly appreciate what life is all about. No worries, no troubles...it's your adventure.

Thanks for the photos. My son and 33 other sons just got back from camp Alexander in Colorado. When it was 104 in Dallas it was 78 there. I miss it
