    Noob Hammock?

So I bought a little setup to start sleeping with at night. I am in need to get a solid sleep...

I bought a kelsyus portable hammock because the stand is sizable for my room. Instead of using the hammock it came with, I bought a camping single hammock (parachute like material) and was able to string up with the stand. The stand isnt large enough to fit a nice brazilian hammock, and I wanted to test the waters before I invest and build a stand for a nicer hammock.

I have a hard time sleeping on my back to begin with, and moved back to my bed after a 2 hour sleep.

Does this get better with more use? Or is my hammock selection wrong? any tips?

(P.S.) I did watch the videos, and am mainly concerned with a hammock for indoor sleep habits.

it took me some time befor i could sleep a full night in a hammock...
some ppl can do it the first time the try... others take some time..
    some give up right away

i'm not a back sleeper either but i can sleep on my back in a hammock
once you get use to it you will be fine
also could be the hammock.. alot of the cheap hammocks are not that great
    thats why they were cheap
also could be your stand and the way you have the hammock set up on the stand Pics would help us out a ton ....

by the way... welcome to the forums
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Ill try to get some pics when I get home tonight! I appreciate the insight. I was curious if it were something that one has to get used to...

Im looking forward to my afternoon nap when I get off of work, hopefully that goes smoothly!

Thats good. Was it just a matter of getting used to it?

That's great news! Just out of curiosity, did you have to fiddle with it and make some adjustments before you got to this point? Are you able to sleep on your side in it now, or did you condition youself to sleeping on your back? And finally, are you going to be stringing up that Brazilian hammock now?

Looks like you're joining the ranks of the forum's full-time hangers--I'm jealous.
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

My first few nights I made it 2 - 4 hours before I woke up groggy and somehow made it to my bed. In that time I was napping in it as well (like 30-60 minute naps)

I think I just needed to adjust. I can sleep on my back, mostly its a back/side combo.

I just let my body do what feels best.

My roommate is moving out soon, that means I get to move into the master bedroom. When that happens I'll build a DIY stand and get a Brazilian hammock!

That will be in 2 weeks!

Good news jlaugh87. Glad to see your making the adjustment. Can you go to the "Fulltime Hammocker" thread and join the list?
