Tree Straps

I have some strap that someone gave me. It was a leftover section they used to make a climbing and repelling harness. The stuff is thick and very tough. I was going to use it to make some tree straps. I wonder if a water knot would be ok for making the loop. I was just going to use a larks head around the tree.

I will see about getting pics of the strap later.

careful- i'm no climber, but i've heard that stuff pulls a stretchy...

Thanks for the response. I believe its actually a tubing if that makes sense.

probably nylon tubing that is intended to be stretchy under load to slow a fall instead of snapping to a stop. Good for falling climbers, bad for hanging hammocks. ;-)

I've hung plenty of times from webbing used for climbing. Before I stumbled upon this forum I only used climbing supplies. I've had friends that weigh 250 lbs. plus do the same. I've never woke up on the ground after starting above.
