    Adjustable Wedge

    Hi,

I am having great difficulties opening the adjustable webbing
    once tightly strapped.

This is only the case with the stronger 1.7 dbl WBBB adjustable webbings. The 1.1 dbl WBBB has different adjustalbe webbings that are very easy to open.

Am I missing something, how can I open up a strapped up 1.7 dbl WBBB.

    Thank you.

Try to set the webbing coming off the trees at 30 degrees. If you set up with the webbing basically coming straight off the trees, then you're going to hang too tight and then yes the buckles will lock up. Go around the trees as high as possible (use sticks to reach them up there if needed) in order to get this 30 degree angle. Right now you're just hanging too tight.

To help you with your current problem I would try to use a slotted screwdriver to pry the two buckles apart so that you can feed your webbing through it again for adjustment. As taylo166 points out, the best cure for the problem is prevention be ensuring a proper hang angle on the suspension.

    Cheers

    Oh thanks,

Stupid, yes lately I just started to pull the tree ties as hard as possible to get a
straight line. As you say a 30 degree angle from the ground for both sides...

Make sure the trianlges are lined up before you tighten the webbibng. The one time I did not do it I did have an issue

Other than that (I have a 1.0 dbl (the wifes) and a 1.7 dbl (mine)) I have never had a problem.
