Road Trip to Lollapalooza- Where to hang near Sandusky?

Heading to Lollapalooza with my bestfriend and my girlfriend in two weeks and we want to split the 12 hour drive up and stop somewhere near Sandusky (We know nothing about Sandusky, just picked it out on the map based on proximity to the lakes, getting to see the lakes will be cool for all of us).

Any time I suggest camping and they get excited I've got to jump on it. Looking for some seclusion (as in - not a camper style camp site) maybe somewhere with a nice view? Ok maybe I'm wishing 'too big' now haha. Free/Cheap/Stealth only please and thanks!
