    First hang, hows it look?

Well, Got my hammock in early this week and finally got a chance to really hang it (I hung it for like 5 minutes the day I got it just because i was so excited but didn't really make it right). I realize the trees are a bit far apart, but thats all I've got at home so i made due. I hung the hammock with eno slap straps, (which ive already experience some stretching... ugh!) slapped on a Adjustable structural ridgeline from whoopieslings, just to see if i like it or need it, and hung the eno profly. I hung it upside down at first, but i flipped it later. Anyway, shortly after that i laid back and enjoyed it! Then had my girlfriend lay it it so i could snap some pics. She wouldnt get out after that... nap time!

So just let me know what you guys think. I know its kinda low but the trees were rather far apart i think, and the slap straps really arent that adjustable. Any tips, pointers, advise, constructive criticism, or just plain criticism is all welcome! Ill be taking it tomorrow camping for two nights so hope it goes well.

PS if anyone likes mountain biking around the tyler texas area, ill be at tyler state park and doin some riding all weekend! shoot me a pm and we can meet up!

Had a few problems uploading all my pics so ill try and put them in a photo album under my profile... maybe i can do it there idk...

    What do you think?

Was it comfy? That's the real bottom line. I kind of like a low setup sometimes because it makes reaching things on the ground around you much easier. Other times, a little person could walk under my hammock and I'd never know it.

It sounds like you're well on your way; already having an adjustable ridgeline at the waiting and all. On that note, you obviously know enough to be dangerous, so why the Slap Straps?

Looks real good, Taco13!! And it passed the "comfort" test by you AND your girlfriend, so I'd say you're doing really well.

For trees that are a little too far apart, lengthen the suspension and try to get those straps higher up the trees. (use a stick to push the loops up the trunks). That'll give your suspension a better angle.

Your tarp looks great! Welcome, TT!

As long as you are comfy and dry/shaded, all is well. Once you get some better adjusting suspension you'll be able to dial it in.

definitely was comfy! why the slap straps... they looked easy... thats about the only reason i can think of. I ordered them with my double nest before i really discovered this forum. kinda a bummer, but its a learning experience. Ill definitely be upgrading soon! Whats you preference on suspension?

As for everyone else, Thanks a ton! I feel like im on the right track... like i said, its a learning experience and i guess i really need to just experiment and see what works for me.

Looks great Taco. Seems you got it figured out. Have fun mountain biking, I am sure Texas is hotter than New Jersey, and NJ is 110 today! Nothing but the pool for me.

I'm a hammock noob myself, so all I can say is, it looks better than mine! So you're in Hallsville? I work in Longview and live in Big Sandy, a small world it is.
