I like my DIY down bag that zips all the way open for light weight and warmth. I can zip the bottom closed to make a pocket to keep my feet warm and keep the bag pretty much where it belongs. I can still move freely under it, tuck it around me, etc., and no in-hammock calisthenics needed to get in and out of it!

I just spent 6 days on the Rogue River in Oregon, and used my 3 Season Burrow topquilt both in a hammock and on my roll-a-cot/thermarest in my tent. I liked the top quilt much better than a sleeping bag in the tent. It was easy to toss & turn without fighting with a sleeping bag. My feet were tucked in and cozy while the rest of me was just right. On a colder trip, the sleeping bag might be better, but maybe not???? I love my Burrow.

I have a black mamba TQ and a Yeti UQ. Before that I tried various things, pads, over cover, Emergency blankets, etc... There is absolutely no comparison. My TQ and UQ are the best pieces of hammock gear I have purchased. (next to my hammock of course)
I used to lay there for hours having to pee, because I didn't want to get out of the hammock. I was finally comfortable after wrestling my pad and sleeping bag into place. now its sort of like diving in and out of the hammock. You just cant know, until you have experienced it.
Because you fall through the clouds if you try to lay on them, so the next best thing is a hammock.

I have a bridge hammock and I don't have the problems getting into my bag that others seem to have. Plus I like to have the convection effect of a sealed container. With a piece of reflectix in the pocket underneath, I stay pretty warm.

Any body else use their hammock inside the sleeping bag? I use a little shock cord at the very end to keep it in place and the head end is hooked to my ridge line by shock cord as well, I find it really is the best of both worlds

I use a bag and have no problem getting in or out of it. I haven't really gone low temps yet as I know I will get cold spots the lowest Ive gone with out any insulation I think was 40. I've gone as low as 28 but used a spare hammock and a 2nd bag in that to make a UQ.
