    July 4 paddle

I was anticipating a solo canoe trip July 4, however; ended up taking my step daughter's significant other with me. The two of us had a great time, some good hang time, lots and lots of sleep. Just two made travel easy, rest welcome, cooking simple, and time to fish. Saw lots of wildlife, including eagles.

While we got pretty much skunked on the fishing, we had a great time. A few pics to share. The Manistee river in northern lower Michigan is a jewel.
