I know, I know. "Thread Injector" is clever. It's cute. It's even accurate to a point.

    It's manly to inject.

But come on. Really. Don't be embarrassed to sew.

    Say it with me now.

    It's... a... sewing... machine.

    HFG out

Yes!! It's not like it's usually called a doily maker or something like that. It's a "Machine". Nothing wrong with a man using one, not demeaning or anything.
If a "sewing machine" is good enough for me, it's good enough for any guy out there. When I use the excavator, I don't need to call it the " Soil scooping appliance".

I usually use "stitcher" because I just can _not_ deal with some one being a "sewer".
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

"Bless you child, when you set out to thread a needle don't hold the thread still and fetch the needle up to it; hold the needle still and poke the thread at it; that's the way a woman most always does, but a man always does t'other way."

I thought it was a bit silly at first - ok, maybe "amusing". Then I discovered that it already has an abbreviation in the list, so now I use PTI because it's easier to type. Usage determines language elements. There are lots of words that have synonyms. Call it whatever you want.

Hammock Forums could easily use a jargon sticky. You might see a thread that goes, "I like using a SB with my DIY DL, and use whoopies and biners, a CCF pad and a bug sock. My buddy has a WBBB 1.7 DL with a CF cat tarp, and 900 UQ that I lust for. Another buddy uses a SBDL 1.1 that is pretty cool. I rigged up a GTUL for my kid, but he wants a Claytor."

I joke around to my friends and family and refer to myself as a "seamstress" now when doing diy projects.
