    It's a Sewing Machine!

I'm sorry, I just have to say it folks. It's a sewing machine for corn's sake.

I know, I know. "Thread Injector" is clever. It's cute. It's even accurate to a point.

    It's manly to inject.

But come on. Really. Don't be embarrassed to sew.

    Say it with me now.

    It's... a... sewing... machine.

I agree. I can't say thread injector. It is what it is.

Agreed. For a short period of time when i first joined, it actually caused confusion for me. I was wondering if it was a specific style, or brand of sewing machine that differed from what you would call a "sewing machine". It sounds dumb, but I'm in QC and I over think things quite often.

No disrespect to those who call it that and I think I know who came up with it in the first place, but I just don't call it that.

Of course when you get to be a certain age you don't give a flying fig what anybody thinks about your sewing machine... or your yellow Crocs...or, well you get the picture.

    (that would be me)

A sewing machine does not sound "manly" enough thus, "thread injector"

IMO I like the term "textile impaler" even better

Next thing we know you will be wanting to call a two piece interlocking sliding device a zipper.

How about the "fabric attachment and repair tool", or F.A.R.T. for short

Yeah. I think the "thread injector" joke just kind of took off and next thing you know everyone was using the term.

As for me, I call it a sewing machine. No clue as to why using those words would indicate either femininity or masculinity. It's just a tool.

Yeah but that's just it Knotty. "Tool" being as phallic as "injector"...

Or maybe it's just me. Mine is a sewing machine. I make cool things with it and I have also made curtains.

But I don't want to cause a rift in the community.

Bravo! This also really confused me as well when I first started.
