decided to go get the doublenest and dryfly in subdued. price with 5% "military" discount 122.46 total(with s/h). its the lowest i could find so i assume its a deal but its still a good chunka change for just the two basics. so im hesitant.

The chatter on the forum is Eno hammocks are good but the tarps are substandard but, I've never see an Eno tarp.

I can tell you that gearforadventure is an A+ outfitter. Nice people. As for ENO well that wouldn't be my pick for a hammock but that's just me.

ok well now of course because i asked to be swayed its working.
for better informational all around i should prolly add more stats.....
im 6'1" flux from 170-220 i call i on/off season, some significant others call it hibernating. thats not the point.

i have about 150$ budget i was going for mid range. mainly because i would like a decent overall loadout, rather then an awesome tarp and a pair of poopyslapystraps.

i have a bag, and a pad, and most other camping essentials.

and am looking for american made. im not against importing. except when importing saves me money and makes others work like slaves. just my ethics....
anyway. thoughts?

I have an ENO DryFly (bought BEFORE I found this site). I use it as a spare for friends to use now. I would invest in a quality tarp. Because you've set a budget limit, you have to be really good at identifying/defining your requirements....

If you can have only one (1) tarp, how do you need it to function? Will you camp in storms? In the winter? How cold do you get? I or will privacy be an issue for you at any point? Will you have a substantial amount of gear that will need to be protected too? Are you a gram-weenie, or are you willing to traid for weight for comfort? Will you be camping in "tight" places where tree-to-tree distance could be a factor?

Once you have those answered, you can start to narrow down what to get. I pesonally like the MacCat Deluxe with tarp doors for my do-all tarp. I've since picked up JRB 10x11 for other uses, potentially a winter tarp.

As far as hammocks themselves go, I have two ENOs and I love them. They work well for me, so I spent my money on suspensions and tarps.
