Glow in the dark zipper pulls

Anyone know where I can get some glow in the dark zipper pulls? I would like to replace the pulls on my bug net so it will easier to find the zipper during those late night bathroom trips.

I think materials like that only glow for a few minutes when they've been "charged up" by a light source...no?

I was thinking about this for my DIY units, but thought that in the dead of night, they'd be just as dark as any other light-colored pulls...?

it depends on the materials, the cheap plastic stuff you might have to double check.....somewhat related, i saw glow in the dark tent pegs...... alum base. not what your looking for but point is its prolly somewhere. the chemical they use on time pieces ie watches is a paint yo may be able to just paint on the luminescence but spelt right. just a word of caution if you do the paint thing, its carcinogenic or the stuff they used back in the day was..... watchmakers licked their brush to get a point to paint the finely drawn numbers = rampant oral cancer. ak i rambled....point is that watch stuff they use glows for a while.....i would recomend using a detachable cloth(or lanyard tie on and paint the fabric). if its permanent you cant stealth as easily..........

I've got to get some of those!
The problem with hammocks is that you sleep so well, that by the time you wake up due to a full bladder, there's no time to be fumbling around trying to find your zipper - on the bugnet, that is. Hmmm, maybe I should buy one for my pants, too

That was radium paint. Here's a wiki article on it, if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radium_girls. Nowadays, they use tritium on watch faces. It's a wee bit safer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tritium_illumination. Don't think it would work for zipper pulls, though, since it needs a florescent gas to illuminate anything.

More'n likely, the type of paint that would work on a pull would be the sort that needs light to be charged up (in other words, photoluminescent paint).

    Thanks, weaver2469 for the link!

Maybe a tritium keychain fob would work for you. You can get them in a variety of colors.

problem with them for hammocks is they'll be in your pack all day and likely never get any charge.

No problem. The nice thing about these is that they are both glow in the dark and reflective. In case they aren't "charged" enough, you still might have some reflective light helping you.

The ones that Paul sells work good. I have them on my WBBBs. When I get into the hammock, I use my flashlight, so my night vision isn't working well. However, ten minutes later, I can make out the pulls in the dark. What's better though, is that four or five hours later when I get up in the middle of the night, they still have enough of a glow that I can see where the two zippers are. I put them on the inside zippers only.

Somebody PM'd me, here's the link:
