    Hi from Durham (U.K)

Just thought I'd pop in and say Hi!

My grandson and I only ever use hammocks for camping now. Me, because having reached the age of 60, my back and hips hurt too much ground dwelling. My grandson, because he's not stupid and knows a good thing when he sees it.

My grandson wanted to put hooks up in his bedroom and throw his bed out. His mom drew the line though - so it's only in the great outdoors for now.

Also, hammocking pretty much guarantees you're gonna have to kip in the woods - and I love the woods.

Looking forward to reading stuff here and contributing as and when I can.

    Eric

    welcome to the madness.

I grew up in Durham North Carolina here in the US.

I started hanging for the same reasons you did.

Thanks guys, there's a few of us over here with an elevated perspective.
I'm taking the grandson down to Wales in two weeks time for 10 days hanging around in the woods (BushcraftUK Bushmoot). Can't wait!

Welcome aboard from Florida. Another 60 year old, your grandson has the right idea. I'm starting my fourth week of sleeping in a hammock fulltime, best sleep in ages.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
