    Hello from Minnesota

Hi folks - thought I'd better at least say Hi. I'm not hanging yet, still undecided, but planning ahead to purchase next April 2012, just in case I'm convinced to leave the tent behind. I'm attracted to hammocks for the obvious reason - not worrying about wet ground and putting up camp anywhere I want.

Welcome aboard. You'll find lots of great information and helpful, friendly people abound. If you're still not sure try to hook up with local members to try out their rigs. Or be on the look out for those sub $20 hammocks that occasionally pop up online to test the waters. Hammock camping sure ain't for everyone, but some give up on it too soon.

Hey I like the idea of being able to try out different rigs. Hopefully I can link up with someone this fall for a local hang. (is that what you call it? ) ...just have to figure out what I can contribute in kind.

Hangers seem to universally love food, especially dessert.

There is a fall hang this year, that will probably happen in October. You'll learn tons about hammocks on a trip like that. Welcome to HF!
