Yeah, I found that a small sit pad keeps me from sliding at all.

I notice that you're in my neck of the woods - we need to set up the camp seat hang on the Pine Mtn Trail

Thanks SN for this great idea. I've got to get some supplies and make one. I wonder if a few small beads of silicone in the seat area would stop the slide.

I look forward to seeing your results! Interesting idea on the silicone. I'll be interested to hear if it works without pulling leg hair and such

Finished it up. This was my first time working with SilNylon....man is it slippery. My pad (scrap of blue CCF from WallyWorld) seems to make it slip more. My test silicone on a scrap of silnylon worked very well, I couldn't peel it off. I'm going to try it when I get a chance and keep the placement under where my butt will be so that I don't catch leg hairs. Thanks again, I'll post a pic and some notes on construction that I used when I get a chance.

Good job! I look forward to the pictures and to hearing how the silicone works out.

I'm not sure if anyone sells something exactly like it, but it is relatively simple to make and makes a cool first-time project!

    My slightly more detailed instructions

    Step 1:
Cut nylon to size of 40" x 55.5"

    Step 2:
    Hem all 4 sides 1/4" to 3/8"

    Step 3:
Sew on grosgrain patches at 2" from top hemmed edge and 7.5" from bottom and against hem stitching on each side (tuck under raw edge).

Melt hole in center of each patch through both patch and fabric.

    Step 4:
Sew side channels 1/2" between edge and stictching

Sew top channel 3/4" between edge and stictching - Double stitch

Sew bottom channel 3 1/2"between edge and stictching - Double stitch

    Step 5:
Attach pocket (ok I didn't write this all out)

feed shock cord through entire perimiter finish with cord lock

    attach whoopie slings

    Step 6:
    enjoy

Thanks. I haven't done the silicone anti-slip mod yet, hopefully I'll make that mod this weekend. I'll post my results.
