    ^shane^ has it about right, temps range from 60-80 except the mtn. elevations are 5-10 degrees cooler. Very comfortable here. Although we are getting brief rains, definitely NO campfires.

    Hey, there's something amiss with that picture. Where's all the brown trees?

    Those New Mexico Trout must be TOUGH customers, crossing your trail like that!! Did they challenge or charge you? Now I'm wondering if there is such a thing as "Trout Spray" to keep them from attacking.

    I'm betting you thrashed them right into your frying pan.

    I know this post is just completely WRONG, but I couldn't resist.

    Yeah,yeah, I saw this coming. I should have known it would be you! Have you ever heard of stream crossings? I mean w/o the typical Colorado three lane bridge and an attendant to hold your hand and carry your pack.

    TR42,
    we have some beetle-kill as well.Luckily, they are just no where near what we witnessed in Summit County.

    Fire Restriction Update;

    FYI... according to the Lincoln County Forestry office 575.257.4095, backpackers can use propane, liquid gas, and alcohol stoves throughout the LNF.

    Great pictures and nice report! Glad you survived your encounter with the dangerous Bull Trout. I would love to see your country sometime and hike with you again, even with the abuse I get.

    I'm glad to see you're still able to get out and walk a bit at your age.

    Sorry I'm so late commenting Taozenqi somehow I missed this post until now.

    What a beautiful forest and trail. Nothing like what my minds eye pictured NM to look like.
