Hammock Bliss and structural ridgeline?

I have a pair of "no see um no more" hammocks from Hammock Bliss.

I am toying with the idea of putting an adjustable structural ridgeline on these. Does anyone have one of these and have you tried a SRL? The netting has two separate cords that are use to tie off the net. Would the SRL go under or over the net? I ask because I can flip this hammock over and sleep without the net if bugs are not a problem. Having the SRL go through the net would make flipping the hammock problematic.

I have a hammockbliss noseeum as well. Sounds like you have it figured out already. Yeah I dont see it workin out well inside the net either, you'd have to put holes in the ends of the net too.

My suggestion would be to add some continuous loops to your suspension coming from the end channels, connect them to your whoopies with a descender ring or carabiner and then connect the SRL to those biners/rings. You can then tie the bugnet to the SRL or even to the afore mentioned biner/rings. The farther away the biner/rings are from the hammock, the higher the bugnet will sit and the longer the SRL would need to be. Disconnect the bugnet and then you can flip it over and still have a SRL. This would cut into the minimum distance you can have between trees though. Just a thought.

Can you do a sketch of what you mean? My brain needs a visual image to process what you are describing.
HamMike, you are right. I forgot to mention poking holes in the net to allow the ridgeline through. I rather not do that.

Here's a picture of a Single Line suspension from the Sticky thread (photos from headchange4u's SLS sticky thread). What I suggest is make one of these: :

Feed it through the end channels like this:

And then attach a SRL from one ring to the other similar to this picture except in your case you will have whoopie slings going from the rings to the trees:

If you make the loops longer, the SRL will have to be longer and your bugnet will hang higher if you tie it to the SRL. You can still flip the hammock over when you disconnect the bugnet.

What knot do you use to tie the SRL to the descender rings?

Thanks Raiffnuke, for some reason I was thinking a Clove Hitch had to have tension on both sides of the rope.

it does. It looks like you were trying to use a single ridgeline for the entire suspension like the one posted here. If that is not what you are doing, then the clove hitch is not what you want.
