    Summer Top Quilt

Just finished my new summer top quilt. This is a sewn through design made out of Momentum90 fabric. Used 7oz of 800 fill down.
74"x52" at the top. You can't really see it in the pics but there is a taper to the foot end. Used a Draw String foot box and grosgrain and buttons to keep it light. Total weight was 14oz

It looks very uniform. I'm thinking about doing something the same...but I'm such a warm sleeper, what you made would be a 3 season for me.

Very nice job! I made both baffled and sewn thru quilts and I really thought the sewn thru was more difficult to sew than a baffled one. I couldn't keep the fabrics lined up because I couldn't see the bottom layer. I could see through the baffles so I could see the line I had drawn on the bottom layer to keep me straight.

BTW, It's interesting that you classify this as a summer quilt (in Michigan). I made a dead of winter top quilt with only 9 ounces of down. Here in Florida, our summer weight top quilts weigh exactly nothing - we don't use one

It worked really well by sewing the the 3 edges first, then doing the middle stitch and working away from the middle.

    Thanks all
really pleased with how it came out.

Hey, I like that technique! That's what I call thinking before sewing! I usually reverse that procedure

I started at one end, and had a twizzler by the middle. New one I am going to hand stitch baste before running through the machine.

    nice work.

I taped my layers for my sewn thru to the floor, and pinned all of the seams before ever picking it up. the sewing part was quite easy after that.
