    Hello,

I had a few questions concerning the height limitations to your hammock models, i see that the scout has a definitive number 5'8"
but as i am 6'1" will i fit into those hammocks designated at 6' max like your explorer or the hyperlite comfortably? or will i need to go for the deluxe model of hammock rated on your site for 7'. i will be using a pad and bag for insulation.
also a side question, do you have a military or veterans discount?
thank you for your time and effort.

    more info from hennessy

Hi, Mr. Ehrhardt - weightwise you would be fine because we also budget for 25-30 lbs. of gear with the occupant in
the hammock , but comfortwise the length might be an issue. Our customers who are over 6 ft. find that the longer hammocks are much more comfortable because of additional room to stretch out and sit up. If you do get a shorter
hammock, try it out for 10 days and find it is too short, you can return it for a full refund or to upgrade to a larger size.

    Best regards,

thats fine, and thank you, ive deployed a bunch all over (got to play in haiti and the desert), but ive been in the civillian world for a bit, so no worries, i did share the information, i believe that when people see their troops being supported they are more inclined to support that organization. either way, i had one last question. for you. the backpacker UL, i have a friend loaning me one so i can test out the system and see how it rides, i was wondering for the max weight, i am currently 185lbs, and a pad or underquilt and all said gear will be cutting it close maybe over, it be an issue?

i know you are a very prosperous company and i am under the assumption that the weight may be a "conservative measurement" to avoid pesky lawsuits from people who dont really have anything productive to do with their life. or maybe i am just hoping.
either way i appreciate your time and effort. thank you very much.

    Hello Michael,

Yes, that would be fine. The 20% military discount is meant to be for people actively serving in the armed forces although we have extended it to many people who have recently returned from over seas as well.

    Thanks and regards,

    James

So Ears, did you get the Hennesy?
I have the backpacker asym and am over the 6' rating (6'1" , 6'2" ?) and haven't found any troubles so far. I have started to wonder though because sometimes I find my toes/feet against the bugnet. So far it has always been too cool and windy for skeeters... but aside from that one concern it is COMFY !
