I use ear plugs, I am a very light sleeper and sometimes I have a hard time falling asleep, I am a paramedic firefighter and get woken up in the middle of the night for calls, so I HAVE to wake up, hence the VERY light sleeper! When I am on the trail the light sleeper thing doesn't go away, I fall to sleep faster than I do at home, but I wear ear plugs (foam kind) and I find that it mutes everything just enough for me to not be bothered and wake up cause of noise! I snore at home and on the trail, but have never woken myself up "Yet" from it!

It's always best if your an early riser!
Check in the travel section at WM for the inflatable neck pillow around $4.00.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
My mum wakes herself up from her snoring all the time. It's funny when she's sleeping on the couch and I'm in the kitchen and can hear it. Haha.
But yes, the suggestion of the pillow is one I would agree with. Good luck!
