Smile LOL today I earned my hammock spurs

Today I got in my hammock to read and the tree hugger snapped and dumped my not so preety rump onto my stone hard patio

That will teach me not to use cheap and narrow cargo straps to save weight and money. My rear , elbows and head are still telling it was not a good idea

lesson learned only buy good gear for your tree huggers gentlemen !

Falling happens to all of us. Just a few weeks ago I was out in the woods and woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I was so tired, I forgot to stretch out my hammock before I sat in it and fell right on my back. It still beats sleeping on the ground.

IMO...hammock spurs do not sound like a good idea.

I had that same thing happen with some generic strapping that I had picked up at the local hardware store. About 10 minutes after laying down I hear the stretching/ripping sound...then the short trip to the ground. Enough warning so I was ready for it and no harm done.

Unfortunately I was in the woods laying on the ground. Fortunately, the strap was long enough to tie back together and do a double wrap around the tree so that the suspension was then running through a double-layer of the strap to get me through the night.

    Glad you were not injured.

There are two types of Hammockers: Those who have fallen, & those who will fall.
Id like to think I'm both.

That being said, there are 2 types of groundlings: those who have woken up in a puddle, & those who will wake up in a puddle. AND, they all have woken up with a rock or stick stabbing them in a delicate area, all night.

I was thinking the same thing!

I had my first fall recently...the pretty pit bull puppy thought she'd jump in with me as I was getting in the hammock, and pretty much flipped us over the other side. It hurt, but I was laughing my arse off.
