Back in my younger days when I was a tent camper, we hiked into Otter Creek about a mile -- late on a Friday night. We camped above an ankle deep creek. It rained most of the night. Our tent flooded and people were coming across that stream and the water was up to their chests. Luckily we were on the car side of the creek and decided to pack it up and go home.

    Glad you got out safe.

    Otter Creek Wilderness

is about as perfect a bowl as one could imagine. Take a look at it on Google Earth to appreciate how it collects rainfall.

I have dipped into Otter Creek in early May - quite a shriveling experience!

    Great videos.

    Yes,

Standing under the waterfall in April or May is, uh, "refreshing" to say the least. We did a backpacking trip there in March one year. The first day was sunny and near perfect for that time of year. The second day rained and we worked downstream and across Otter Creek to the shelter that used to be along the creek. Stayed in the shelter overnight and awoke the next morning to a few inches of snow on the ground. Otter Creek had risen overnight and the recrossing could not be done dry. That was a cold walk out.

    Maztrain,

Thanks for renaming your Youtube videos. While it's really not Mylius Gap at least the Mylius is right and people will be able to find it.
