SOLD: Good deal on Ti Pot and stove

    http://campsaver.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=msr0076

I came across this deal on the MSR titan kettle and pocket rocket stove for $49.95. If your order is over $50 shipping is free so I ordered something else for a couple bucks. I normally use an alcohol stove and Beer can pot but could not pass this deal up. What can I say, My name is Mark and I am a gear junkie

Just passing this along in case someone is in the market for a titanium pot or canister stove

    Hi
I have a pocket rocket and think it is a good stove, I do not have the pot that comes in this deal but I have another larger pot. The only thing that bothers me about this stove (actually there is two things) is that the tops of the pot rests are cut at an inward angle so that my pot sits on the top out side corners of the post rest, so my pot is forever sliding off the rests and I have to hold the pot most of the time.
My pot is Teflon coated inside and out and I have scored the whole out side of the pot with an electric tool but still it slides.

The other item is that I find I must tighten up the stove to the canister a lot, and even check the tightness while cooking as the stove top looses pressure and the flame dies right down, as if you are out of gas. Once tightened up it is all ok.

One last thing, a friend I hike with has the pot and stove set as above and cannot for the life of him get the cannister and stove to fit inside the pot

    All the best
    Gunn

you're correct, only the 4oz canister fits in here. This is an awesome deal. The stove is basically free from what I have seen some of the Titan pots going for. A lot of times, it is that price for just the pot. Great find!
    God Bless,

I've got this combo and I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've never had the loosening problem described above but one thing I can say is make sure your using a flat level surface to the extent possible. You may want to do the super legs mod.

Ditto, I had the same setup before I switched to the Caldera Cone. I still use my Titan Kettle with my Cone, though. The only major thing I would say about it is that it desperately needs a windscreen, which is easily constructed out of a piece of aluminum oven liner. Great deal on that find, congrats! Oh and to keep it on topic.......hammock, hammock, hammock.

OK, I will get this thread back to being hammock related. I ended up trading the pocket rocket for a Claytor Mosquito hammock for my daughter. So I got a Claytor hammock and a MSR titan kettle for $50

The price is at $60 right now, but with the current 20% off coupon code "mayday", it's just under $48, and the 4 oz fuel canisters are $3.19 (with coupon). Free shipping over $50. I just placed my order.

And to stay on topic, I'll just say that I can't wait to use my hammock for the first time this year!!

Great... you just got me to spend $102 that I hadn't planned on.
On topic - I'll be "hangin' out" for the first time come early June. What a great time to break in my newly purchased gear.

This is a great deal! I stumbled onto before joining the hammock forums. But I was a great buy and I used the folding legs as my “get over $50 bucks for free shipping item”
