Darn straight! And some of our manlier forum members hike in kilts as well (something I've always wanted to do, but fear... strike that... dread the reaction I'd get from the Missus--ridicule from the guys rolls right off my back (like the time I played basketball after I waxed my lower leg to prove to the Missus she was making a bigger deal about it than necessary (she was NOT, by the way--you ladies are the real men)), but an eye-roll from the Missus brings flames of red hot, lava-like shame to my cheeks (I am a disgrace to my Scots/Irish heritage).
Here's the litmus test to see if you are the uber-man: could you (if you HAD to), without hesitation or reserve, bring yourself to call a thread injector a... you know... sewing machine?
You're gonna need a bigger hammock
I have to be honest, I have several pieces of ripstop in a hidden place that my wife does'nt know about yet. I am waiting to find a good deal on a vintage rock-solid machine to start making stuff!! Question: Am I wrong to hide this urge for material from my spouse?? Oh well, time will tell.
My wife had a brand new brother thread injector that was never used up until 2 weeks ago. I actually find it strange that I find it calming when I'm on that thing trying to sew something.
Now my daughter keeps bugging me when I can make her a dress
One of the cool things living in Los Angeles (despite the noise and traffic) is that we have a Fabric District downtown. I just scored some 1.9 ripstop for $3.50py and 1.7 ripstop for $3.00py this past weekend
Just wait til your stove addiction kicks in..........its amazing how you can go from yard sale to yard sale looking at "antique" things and have visions of how that would make and awesome stove!!!!!! There are many addictions in this world, welcome to one of the best ones you will ever find!!!!!!!!
Par Si Vis Pace Para Bellum
I offered to make my daughter a ripstop prom dress but she politely declined
This thread is full of LULZ.
I went to hancocks last week, picked up some black ripstop, ask the gal at the counter if she get's a lot of guys coming in. She said you'd be surprise at how many come in for various projects etc, and a lot of them were military to boot, myself included!
