I partially shaved with my mora the other day... I had to stop because I was getting nervous.... It's amazing what a few minutes with some 2000 sandpaper and a leather strop will do for an already sharp knife!

Sportsmans Guide also carrries the Swedish Military Mora. Identical to the Carbon MG. My personal favorite comes from our own Fourdog." Fordog.com "It's a Finnish made Martinni. Scary sharp out of the box.

A Mora Companion MG in stainless is on it's way to me from BensBackwoods at I type this! I have the Mora 746 and really love it although it weighs 4.25 oz! I've been trying other knives to save some weight but haven't found anything that can do the job like the Mora. So, the Companion MG will save my 1/2 oz and I'm hoping will perform just as well as the 746.

Just bought the "Mora of Sweden Companion MG Carbon" knife from BensBackwoods. Can't wait til it gets here. Thanks everyone for the help!

My primary wood's knife is a #1, pretty much goes with me everytime I go out! I own several knives and soon will have a custom, but the #1 is still going strong after many hard years of use, so, for me that is my crutch, the darn thing just won't die!!!!!

Was just sharpening my Mora this morning and then saw this thread. Wonderful knife for the price and really appreciate the lightness of it. Another fan of Ben's Backwoods as well.

BTW, I just got my Mora Companion. It weighs just 4.1 oz, just 0.2 oz less than my Mora 746. The companion has the same blade but a smaller handle and the sheath has an open belt hook whereas the 746 has to be treaded through a belt.

Overall, the two are very similar and I think it comes down to hand size. I have huge hands and therefore like the 746 better. For medium to small hands, the companion is great.

wish the mora had a decent sheath.

i love mine, but the sheath is terrible. i heard some dude in canada was making them for awhile but i think he wrapped it up. dad of all trades or something like that.

you can make a kydex sheath for your mora or have it made for you .
