    Fiddle factor

Am I the only one who cant seem to get a consistent setup using a 3/4 underquilt on a HH hammock? Everytime I set up the underquilt, it takes me at least 15 min to mess with my underquilt to get it just right. I think I must have at least 10 different pull lines to adjust each time... not ranting.. just wondering if thats a normal expected situation with ya'll...

Try hanging the quilt tighter. I hang my 3/4 quilt tight enough that it actually picks up the hammock without me in it. That way when I lay down, the quilt is snug up against me and eliminates alot of fiddling.

    fiddling

Yeah. I use a 3/4 quilt and fiddle around quite a bit, even more if I combine it with a pad. I have it up quite snug, and attached some shock cord, which I pull over the ridgeline. That seemed to help. I look forward to the day I have a full underquilt, but since I am short, I'll have to have one made just right

yeah any more i prefer a full length.
pack bulk / weight isn't multiplied that much... and no need for a pad, or even a 2nd thought about a foot pad.

If the UQ is cut differentially so that it wraps around the hammock without compressing the down, then cinch it up nice and tight. I've never had a problem with my 3/4 UQ on a WBBB or Switchback hammock. They are very different hammocks.

    No fiddle factor here.
Hook the bungies, lay in the hammock, push or pull it into place.
Never moves. I have a HH Exped, wbbb, TtoT SB and they all work the same.

Sorry to hear your having so much trouble.

yeah i don't have much fiddle with mine either... i mean you need to adjust it alittle when you get it but thats about it ...
i have mine set so it hangs the same on all my hammocks ...

might need to shorten your shock cord some... that may help out
what kind of UQ do you have? ...
i'm sure we can help you work out the bugs
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Well, that would be something to find out. I don't see it specified.

When you say fiddle factor, do you mean it is warm one time and not warm another? Without a dif cut, you do need to make sure it is just right each time: just barely touching your back and edges sealed at foot and sides. But no tighter or you will compress loft.

All of that is a lot easier with a dif cut where you just pull it good and snug against your back, period.

I sew 4 elastic loops at the hem and attach the UQ to them. Never a problem since.
