Well... that's encouraging, but not quite what I meant as the hammock is about 1/2 available in that description... I was wondering if the net could be made to be "completely" out of the way, underneath basically. No problem, just wondering how it worked! Thanks!

Am I correct in assuming that Hennessy's cannot be "flipped" and used without bugnet?
    Many thanks, Jake
That is correct.... they do not flip to be used without the bugnet. The ridgeline makes that impractical. I don't know what would happen if you made the ridgeline removable. The single best no bugnet solution for a HH is the 2Q/ZQ mods. You can inquire of them about options.

In answer to the first question... the tie outs are completely optional. Sometimes I stake mine... sometimes I don't.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

    Tie-outs with rain

I tie out when I know it's going to rain from the side tie-outs into the tarp loops and down, because that provides some downward pressure on the tarp tie-outs and supposedly keeps the tarp a little tighter when the nylon expands with the moisture overnight.

That being said, I'm still playing with adjusting, etc.. - part of the fun is to figure out what works for me and play with different options.

It will work, but you will have the loose fabric closer to your face. I like the tie outs.

I like the tie outs, as they do help with the overall form of the hammock. That, and they also serve to hold up the underquilt more snug, as JRB's Mt Washington 3 has grosgrain loops positioned ideally for slotting the tie out through, holding the sides of the UQ close without being restrictive.

I have used mine with and without. I prefer with them staked out.
I could only imagine how badly I would have been swinging in the last storm without them.

i wouldn't mind having a little more swing. I might try laying without them next time.

The "lounger" mode has the hammock body folded in half. Some users do "flip" their Hennessys over and use them without the bugnet. To do so, you have to untie or cut the ridgeline. I have NOT done this. The people who cut their ridgelines install a carabiner and a bowline or something to reattach the two ends quickly. If you untie the ridgeline, I suggest you do something like attach a carabiner to help keep the end loop from being pulled out. It could save you some hassle later.
