    Hammock Gear Winter Incubator.

I mentioned this in another thread. Does anyone use their winter incubator or similar quilt full time? Specifically, how would it do for overnight lows 56-64 temp range. My top quilt is a 7oz down fill summer. I am, in general a cold sleeper and used a 15degree bag year round before I stated hanging and with a pad after I started hanging. I have this UQ as well. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=36168
Trying to decide which one to take on a week long trip.

you can... but some ppl find a winter UQ too hot in warmer weather...
also your dragging around extra weight that is not really needed..
i think a good setup is a winter UQ and a summer UQ ... SUmmer UQ's are pretty cheap around $150 ... give or take a few but well worth it if you backpack
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

My "summer" quilt is only a couple ounces lighter and is 3/4 length. I will get a summer incubator but I don't have several weeks to wait as I leave tomorrow. I keep flopping back and forth between which to take. I don't want to cook every night and I can strap my DIY to the bottom of my pack and save interior room. It should be fine down to 56, the projected low of the week. But I know from experience that weather changes quick around lake superior. It been so hot this summer that I haven't needed an UQ at all the times I've been out, just wrapped myself in a poncho liner. I guess I will just see how the mood strikes me in the morning. I'll hang the winter incubator under my indoor tonight and see how it does. I slept in it last night with nothing but my skivies in the 70s and low tonight is in the 70s.
