    Walmart Find

Hey you guys I was in Walmart in the camping section last night getting a new chair since mine was stolen. I walked by the accessories section and I saw Ozark trail is making Tarps 5x7 making it 8 feet diagonal. I didn't buy one but I thought I saw they were about 20$ make of Sil nylon. So a good newbie tarp or for a kid.

a 103 inch tarp ridgeline would be close for most, but still a good find for hammocks with a 90 inch ridge line or less.

i picked up a tarp from them, but for some reason i think it was PU coated (smelled like plastic) about that same size but it was i think either 9 or 14....but it was blue and packaged about the same size as a poncho.i took it back....

Or get 2 of them and sew the 7' edges together and get a 10'x'7' tarp for $40.

    Cheers

I got one of the small blue plastic ones for a trip recently to lend out, it was a tad small, but I basically had that guy using 2 tarps

They are $9.99 here 5x7 with small stuff sack, nothing like the blue or thick tarps sold elsewhere in the store.

I bought one, added a little webbing to the top ridgeline so I had other hang options, and added 1 more grommet midddle of the 7ft sides. Its a good shade tarp when stopping for lunch, and would be OK if you were sure of no rain just to keep the sun, pine cones and birdy dung off ya.

The company that makes these also makes a 9.5x12 I think it is, I saw it at REI the other day. http://www.rei.com/product/766385/ou...d-tarp-12-x-95 Comes in the same style stuff sack, just bigger.

I'll have to check my local WM for this tarp. Might be decent emergency shelter for a day bag when not planning on hanging. Or even for bugout bag.

i picked up one of those little tarps for my 9 year old son. I made him a smaller hammock so I tought it would be perfect for him. But it was a litle to small.
