Making an asym on the cheap?

I have some scouts I'd like to make a simple asym hammock with. How long/wide does the fabric need to be - most the kids are 5ft to 5ft 10ins

I think a lot of the guys are doing 110" long and whatever width you get the fabric (usually 56 - 60")

Then you have a few options on how to tie it, I'm pretty happy w/ the accordian folded, then red hot poker making two holes in it like a hennessy method.

I have done a few quick simple ones too, no bugnets, I think the main point of the asym is putting the tieouts on the side offset to each other. One guy was telling about actually marking for his shoulder and his knee, and putting them there instead of using an arbitrary measurement.

    YMMV

I would go with 3m x 1.5m to give em plenty of room to stretch out, single layer will be fine due to there weight, if your making basic ones you wont realy need to sew anything, just gather and whip the ends and add on some susspension.

10 foot raw material. I like headchnge4u's instructions, makes it easy to sew on a full zipper for a bugnet later. Dont need to make a new hammock body. Then just tie out's and done.
An emergency of my own making...is still an emergency.
