    i've compared several of the stitch patterns shown there and did not get similar results, my results were all alot closer together, i found that as long as there are enough stitches and those stitches are evenly distributed over the full width (and long enough a section too) the failure results were similar.

    other things that can come into play are the sewing thread. bonded poly or nylon is best and 69 wt (weight) is what i use on webbing, i've tested webbing sewn with 46 wt where the sewing thread failed rather than the webbing. once sewn, webbing will usually fail lower than the manufactuer tensile spec.
