    Thumbs up got my stuff

    went all out today .got my hennessy ultra lite backpacker and snake skins and 5 yards of uncoated ripstop to make hugger and 5 yards of 1.1 sil to make a undercover now on to the down fill .ps have never even seen one of these things setup. let along been in one. i hope i like it .till it gets here? cool beans and back to the biv.sack for one more trip later

    That's great. Welcome to the hanging crowd.

    On the undercover, I would not use sil-nlyon. It is not going to breath and cause a lot of condensation on the bottom. You are going to want something breathable.

    Are you going to make an undercover as in something to block the wind and trap in dead air or a down underquilt for insulation? Either way post pics for everyone along the way.
    Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

    under cover thoughts

    I thought i would make a water proof wind shield with snaps at the end s so i could put my pack and things in to trap hot air what u think ?

    That's a good idea, but instead look into a pack cover gear hammock for the multi-use item. You may have different results, but on my first hammock sock I made it out of a nylon supplex to test out the design. It was said to be WPB, but it was definitly not breathable. When I pulled it over my head I got a lot of condensation on it and my bag. My final version is DWR ripstop on the bottom 2/3 and non-coated ripstop on the top 1/3. It still had condensation all around after spending a night in it. But not very much.

    Your body still breaths on the bottom. I had some condensation from underneath me on my first non-breathable version.

    Dead air will get you by to 60...55 for some warm/hot sleepers.... below that you really do need some form of insulation.
