Since weight isn't an issue, you might also take a look at the Hennessey Hammocks tarps.

I've got the 70d Hex tarp, and it's PLENTY big enough for my HH Explorer Deluxe hammock. Great in porch mode.

They've also got two possible selections for ones with doors as well, also under the $100 mark if you get them in the 70d.

yes to side tie outs. Rectangular with side tie outs get you the most pitching options.

    Chrisis,
These are all good suggestions. BUT, you are the only one who can figure out will work best for you. How much is enough coverage, how light is light enough, do you really need the doors, etc. So take all those suggestions, look at all of the different options and then do yourself a huge favor...

Get yourself a $5 plastic drop cloth, cut to the approximate size of your largest prospect and hang it. You can stake it out in porch mode, relaxed pitch and storm pitch and really get a feel for the size. Then take out the scissors, cut down to the next smaller tarp size and play some more. This 1 hr exercise takes ALL the speculation and guess work out of the decision. This way you will know what you are really getting and will have an idea of how it will work for you. You may, after using the real thing, end up changing your mind, but you will start off getting something you know will work for you.

    Jason

PS. I went with the WB Edge, sized right between the Std and Deluxe so I didn't have to choose between the two.

    i will also say this:

i have the superfly because i didnt see the harm in spending the little extra for the doors already on it.

but if you can afford the big mambajamba (superfly without doors) or if you can find an older superfly (same thing, without the doors) you can always get the doors later and see how it goes for you.

even things like the maccat tarps without doors have great coverage, and you can get things like the griz beaks or doors, or even modified later to make it an all season tarp as your budget allows, and can give you immediate coverage for outings.

you were saying you wanted something that you can use for an all season tarp, and while the noah tarps and others you could pitch in a diamond might not be the best choice for a winter tarp, and even can be a pain when its a bit of a heavy storm.

You might look at the Kelty Noah 12. I just picked one up shipped for about $68. You have plenty of tie outs and a ton of coverage.

All the tarp makers listed make great tarps. My suggestions if weight is not an option is to go with a big tarp with doors. More tie outs and such but you're set for any situation. Why get small tarp and not be able to go out cause its snowing? You may not want to winter camp now, but I'd be willing to bet you'll want to at some point.

Big tarps with doors could be oes 4 season, warbonnet superfly, gargoyle mega ogee, old man winter. That being said, I have a superfly and a oes standard, both great tarps but I am partial to Brian at OES. He makes amazing tarps. Great customer service and will build to a dregree whatever you want for a very reasonable price.

First I have to agree with JWright, making an example is a great way to figure out what you want. On that, I went with the Warbonnet Big MamaJamba. I love this tarp.
