    Born2roam intro from Holland

    Hi there list,

Just a quick intro for this list. Been on the yahoo hammock list (among others) but never made an effort to jump over. Too many forums to follow I thought....

    Still can't follow all the forums/digital campfires...anyway:

My name is Johan, born in a small town in The Netherlands, where I currently still (or again) reside.

Always been fond of outdoors life, traveling, food and (camp)fire. Later on scuba diving came into my life too.

Been hanging since 1999. Went on a round the world trip (2003-2005) where I spent many a night in my Hennessy ULBA.

Later on I experimented and slept in Speer hammock, (bulky) Brazilian woven hammocks, cheap Thai hammocks and a lot more.

Only recently I had my hammock converted by 2QZQ (GREAT!) and still use my Hennessy that just got even better.

Depending on destination and mode of transportation I either use my 8x8 JRB tarp or a Tatonka 2TC. Went from standard Hennessy setup with tree huggers to a combination of tree hugger, whoopiesling and carabiner.

Never could get on with a sleeping mat in the hammock, even after trying and trying and DIY projects. After my Speer peapod I now almost exclusively use an under quilt and topquilt/sleeping bag. Or just a poncho liner (Brazil, Thailand e.g.)

Guess that sums it up regarding hammocking. Have to admit, sometimes I do NOT use a hammock in the outdoors

Any other questions/remarks.. just say so.

Might do a lot of lurking before I can make any useful contribution though

    Grtz Johan

    Thanks everybody for the welcomes...
Have my english trip reports but am trying to redesign my website.

Just switched to a Macbook air, and want to try Wordpress with Yahoo and not change the current design too much....instead of the Yahoo Sitebuilder....

Sorry for the OT part of this reaction Any (OT) help is appreciated though.

Welcome, Johan. I moved here from the Yahoo Hammock Group, too, as did a number of us (including NotToWorry). Same sense of community pervades.
